Frequently asked questions by the Jaltest user.

When working with the diagnostic tool on a daily basis, a series of doubts arise for the Jaltest user. From the Customer Service Department, we have gathered some of them in this blog post in order to make the job easier for the user.
We provide you with all the answers to the questions that we are asked the most every day. These are the four main questions:

  1. I need the expert mode code. Can you factory-provide it? 
    No, we can’t; since January 2013, and due to safety reasons, this information cannot be factory-provided; therefore, if you have never generated the expert mode code or if you have lost it, you must be the one to generate your own new code.
    To do so, please access the clients’ area within our website www.jaltest.com with your username and password (which are included in the suitcase along with your unit).Once you have accessed the clients’ area, click on the expert mode button, fill out the blanks with the data requested and accept the liability agreement; after that, click on ‘generate expert mode code’ and the code will be automatically sent to the customer via SMS and e-mail.
  2. I have requested the ID and password of the remote assistance. Where can I find it?
    The “remote assistance” button can be found within the Help icon on the main screen of Jaltest Soft. If we click on this button and we have Internet access, the program will provide the ID and password that the technicians will require to connect remotely to the user’s PC.
  3. How do I change the communication type of Jaltest?
    Sometimes, it is necessary to change the type of communication established between the PC and Jaltest Link. In order to do so, we simply have to access the main menu of Jaltest Soft and select the “Jaltest Link” option; then, a screen will pop up where we can select the type of communication: through USB cable or via Bluetooth. After selecting the desired option and clicking on accept, Jaltest will automatically change the type of communication.
  4. Jaltest Link is asking me for a Bluetooth pairing code. Where can I get it?
    Please, contact our Customer Service Department and we will provide all the information you need to pair your Link to your PC via Bluetooth.

  1. Having an issue reading engine information o 2009 Freightliner Coronado, can read other information but not engine!
